190 Montauk 2007 Horn Replacement

Postby Whalerdog » Mon May 22, 2017 4:08 pm

Any better horns available for [a 2007 Boston Whaler 190 MONTAUK] now? [The original horn] never worked long, then on-and-off with sick sounds. [Have there been] any improvement in horns in the last ten years? Saltwater use. Thanks

I don't think any horn manufacturer makes something specifically for a 2007 Boston Whaler 190 MONTAUK.

The best horns are trumpet-type horns operating on compressed air. See:

One important thing with the horn don't let it get directly wet while washing! I've gone through 2 horns on mine, as long as I avoid water they work great!

Trumpet air horns don't have to take up a lot of room. Here is my installation. Compressor is in back of console.
