Vented gas cap for Pate Plastic gas tank

Postby gtcway » Sat Aug 19, 2017 5:36 pm

Hi, I have a Pate Plastic 18 gallon tank in my 15 sport. The cap rusted away and I ordered a ACDelco 12F7 cap from Amazon and fits great, but it isn't vented.
Anyone know a part number of a cap I can get that fits and is vented?
I know of the problems with ethanol but we apparently don't have it in the fuel here in the Bahamas yet.

The Pate 18 gallon tank came with a vented cap by Stant. It looks very similar to the non-vented cap.

Check the specs on this. It could be the one, or not. https://www.amazon.com/Stant-Mfg-Late-Gas-Cap/dp/B0012TWTBG

Many owners visit their local auto parts store for a replacement cap. Take the old one with you.

Thanks, but the problem is being in the Bahamas, I don't have an Autozone or similar store to go to. Have to order it.

Since no one can definitively say which will work, I decided to order this one http://a.co/7BuH4mn Stant 10623

I'll post an update when it arrives so anyone searching in the future will know.

Hey gtcway,
did you have any luck with the gas cap? I live in Tonga and I am still using the fiberglass tank. My cap just died and there are no autoparts places here.
