We operate a Fire Rescue boat, a 1996 Guardian 25 with twin 135 E-TEC engines, In the fall and spring, we have a lot of lobster trap fishing lines in the area.

GIve me advice on a useful propeller guard to protect from rope entanglement.

We'd be able to remove it during the summer months.

Thanks for any advice.

Don

I'm not aware of any prop cutters for [outboard engines]--only for longer shaft-driven inboards.

The only propeller guards I have seen are welded cages for inboard driven lobster boats. I used to run in Casco Bay Maine and the buoy fields get downright nasty when the water warms and they move inshore in July and August.

I think you are looking for something like thisL

Thanks. The Propguardtech ones look worth checking out. Just need something to direct the rope away from the propeller. We are not too concerned with swimmers in the water--not many around here.

Thanks,
Don
