Just finished a general refresh of my 1995 Boston Whaler 15' Dauntless with a 1996 Evinrude 70-HP engine:
--a complete buff-out inside (three inch pad) and outside hull (six-inch pad), including the anchor well and temporary removal of the rear fishing deck;
--black Rust-Oleum marine bottom paint;
--new bunk support brackets;
--windshield removal, clean-up, polish, with new well nuts;
--new Igloo cooler;
--new trailer reflectors;
--repaint of engine below the cowling.
TRAILER REFURBISHMENT
I have the original Calkins trailer which was developing rust on the fenders. I tried getting replacements but was unsuccessful getting ones that fit properly in aluminum diamond plate without having to modify the mounts, so I decided to take the less aggravating route and bought some Pettit Rustlok Paint # 6980. Came out pretty good, so I decided to paint the Fulton Guide Sticks underside mounting brackets too. Finally, used Rustlok to touch up small areas on the trailer where rust was showing up, as this is a saltwater boat. The last place I'd like to hit with Rustlok are the axle mounting points where contact is made with the springs and u-bolts.

Anyone have experience with Rustlok and its longevity?

Re: General Refresh after 12 years of ownership
The paint work looks good. Let us know how it's holding up in a year.
Nice looking tabby.
