c 1970 13 SPORT Bow Splash Guard

Postby tahoewhaler » Wed Nov 22, 2017 4:46 pm

Hi--This may seem silly, but I am wondering if anyone here has fabricated (or considered) fabricating a splash and wave guard for the bow section [of a c.1970 Boston Whaler SPORT 13 boat] to allow for a drier cockpit in larger waves? My 13-footer has the shorter rail set that terminates on either side of the combined sidelights navigation lamp. I often fish with a larger adult up front which tends to make the bow ride low. I was considering fabricating a plexi-type wrap around for the front section. Any thoughts and ideas?

People add spray rails to the hull to prevent spray from entering the boat when underway. I don't fish when the waves are steep enough to splash over the bow of our 13.

Boston Whaler used a low wind screen at the bow of their NEWPORT model boats. Compare at
