I have owned [a 2006 Mercury branded 90-HP four-stroke-power-cycle outboard engine for] about ten years. For those not familiar with it, there is a camber in the lower unit for exhaust gas. My engine originally had a bead of sealant on a lip between the lower unit and the drive shaft housing. There is not mention of putting a bead of sealant anywhere in the service manual.
This year I mistakenly used a different sealant that stays very flexible compared to one that sets up pretty firm.
Should I have any concerns to watch out for?
Thanks so much.
