Bow Tow Ring

Postby D4655 » Thu Aug 02, 2018 1:56 pm

Hi All,

I have a 2007 270 Outrage. The boat came with the factory tow ring to be towed behind a bigger vessel. This ring is a monster and would take the front 1/3 of the boat with it if it ever was tested! Nonetheless, This is too large for your standard run of the mill trailer clip or for that matter even a D ring of size. Has anyone come across this problem and found a solution? thanks!!

The tow ring(s) on the Boston Whaler were tested and won't cause 1/3 of your boat to tear off in you trailering her or towing her behind the 100 ft Yacht..
Due to the weight of your boat yes it is large in diameter, therefore a solution for your trailer web-ring to connect would be a Stainless Steel shackle of appropriate size.
Use a Soft Shackle like this one http://marine.wichard.com/rubrique-Soft_Shackle-0202090000000000-ME.html it won't damage the bow when left on as a SS shackle might do.
