I recently noticed a crack in the knee of the two locking handles on the stern deck plate of my 2004 NANTUCKET. Where can this plate or a replacement handle be found?

The plate is a VIKING.

The plate that comes out is 10.5 inches.

Any help locating this for repair would be appreciated. Thanks--Henry

That's a Viking PTL-10 deck plate. Unfortunately, this kayaking site says that Viking is out of business and all parts are discontinued. I found a few parts listed online, but all showed "out of stock", so it looks like it's true. That same site says "Call 603-651-1036 for substitution options." Or maybe Whaler has some remaining stock?

This deck plate from Bomar looks very close to a direct replacement. The cutout diameter is listed as the same, but the overall flange size is a little smaller on the Bomar. It's not clear whether the plate itself would fit the old mount, or whether you'd have to replace the whole thing.

Rabud makes a 10" deck plate, but only in pry-out (not locking handles) form. I can't find anybody else that offers a 10" plate.

Chuck at Boston Whaler [is quoted elsewhere that] the replacement part is Hi Tide Manufacturing part #2301603, and that Sue at Twin Cities Marine can procure them.
