Rail Height; Rail Replacement

Postby Surfnfisher » Thu Sep 13, 2018 4:55 pm

[I am] adding some rails to my 22.

[What are] the height and location of rails of the 22?

Are [the rails] mounted inside, outside, or middle of the [gunwale] cap?

My boat is a GUARDIAN. I am not going to weld rails. I am just going to mount them for a little more security for my kids.

Thanks

The base of the rail stanchions on a typical 22-foot Boston Whaler boat are not mounted inboard of the gunwales. The base of the rail stanchions are typically mounted to the gunwale top. The exact location of the railing base stanchions on the gunwale top for the particular boat you have, a GUARDIAN 22, is not known to me, but I would describe the location of the rail stanchion bases as generally mostly centered in the gunwale top.

Is there any chance you know the height of the side rails of a 22 outrage?
Thanks
