Classic 15-footer Down Riggers

Postby bradenvlp » Wed May 01, 2019 11:04 pm

Have Scotty 1025 side angle bracket [down riggers] ever been mounted into the plywood blocks 15-inches from the transom of a classic 15-footer?

Give me warnings, tips, or advice about problems.

Older discussions seem unanimous to use rail mounts to mount down riggers on a classic15, but I don’t love where that puts the down riggers on my boat.

Thanks in advance

I have rail mounts on my 11 and 17. They work well.
Haven't tried the side mounts.

here is pic of a rail mount mount modified to keep it as far aft as possible from an old thread.

See how mine are mounted on my Classic 15. Works fine for me.
