1989 Montauk 17 Latch on Center Console

Postby Clemhkg » Sat Jul 27, 2019 2:48 am

Where can a replacement be purchased for the two small black plastic arrow-shaped latches that keep the door of the center console of a 1989 MONTAUK 17 closed when the door key is not in use?

The male part is black plastic and the female receiver part is brown plastic

Happy fishing from South Brittany France where we live these whalers and they are used as a fishing workhorse.

Best,

Clement

I don’t think a plastic door latch is a particularly marine fitting. A good hardware store might have something in the cabinet fittings department.

I am emailing you a photo of the latch. Take to your local hardware store or look on www.Amazon.fr

I bought some brass ones years ago at a marine store. A little larger but much better quality & design.
On my 24th Whaler. Currently in the stable: 86 18' Outrage, 81 13' Sport(original owner), 87 11' Sport, 69 Squall(for sale cheap).
