Steering wheels are normally centered on Whalers and they obviously have enough room to route the cable into the tunnel correctly. If you can bend SS pipe, you can make a railing. Whaler did not weld any of their classic railings, they were all fitted with T's and screws, etc. If you actually welded it, it would be much stronger and rattle less than OEM.
On my 24th Whaler. Currently in the stable: 86 18' Outrage, 81 13' Sport(original owner), 87 11' Sport, 69 Squall(for sale cheap).
