1987 Johnson V4: Pressure at Crankcase Port to VRO Pump

Postby badcrank 707 » Wed Oct 23, 2019 1:17 pm

Good Morning. What is an acceptable pulse pressure at the output crankcase pulse port [that drives the VRO oil mixing fuel pump] on a 1978 J110TLCUR Johnson outboard engine? At idle my engine has a pressure there of 3-PSI. Is that normal?

That is more than enough to pulse the pump diaphragm. Be sure you have the blue colored pulse limiter installed 435009.
