1991 19 Outrage Gel Coat

Postby Will » Thu Mar 05, 2020 1:38 pm

I am going to remove the old, no longer working, trim tabs off of my Whaler and will need to repair the holes that will be left.

Please tell me what color gelcoat I will need and where I can get it.

I have heard the color of the boat described as "desert tan" and "almond". It is the original color gelcoat. Thank you—Will

Spectrum has factory Whaler desert tan gel coat patch. I have used it many, many times.
On my 24th Whaler. Currently in the stable: 86 18' Outrage, 81 13' Sport(original owner), 87 11' Sport, 69 Squall(for sale cheap).

Good luck with the removal and repair.

ASIDE: I've often wanted to add trim tabs to my 1992 19 Outrage. If possible Will could you please take a photo of your tabs and post them.

Boston Whaler Customer Service responded to my inquiry almost instantly and good for them. The gel coat resin hue is Spectrum Gelcoat color code #2203.

ASIDE: Brian, I am removing the trim tabs from my boat. They were on it when I bought the boat and stopped working several years ago. I am not sure what brand they are but they are definitely not very good quality. The tabs themselves are are rough cut from stainless steel and have sent me to the ER for stitches. I seldom used them when they were working.

Thanks Again
