1988 SUPER SPORT 15: Drawing showing placement of interior

Postby michaelswhalers » Thu Apr 02, 2020 1:26 pm

I am looking for a diagram showing the placement of the interior of a 1988 SUPER SPORT 15. I have a 15-footer hull that we just restored and a SUPER SPORT interior. I want to make sure the interior is put in the right location.

Hearing from anyone who has such a diagram or would be willing to take measurements of their SUPER SPOR 15 will be greatly appreciated.

Hatch and thwart seats are no brainers and you can just measure and duplicate. I used the old interior as the starting point for my interior build, but I didn't like several things that Whaler designed in.

I wanted a 15-gallon tank, the battery, and all wiring and storage to be under andbehind the helm area. You may also want to raise the seats and helm 1.5 to 2-inches as it makes the seats more comfortable to sit in.

I'd offer to take measurements on how I did mine, but it's current under shrink wrap about an hour from my house, but here are some pics to give you and idea.

I used wood cleats under the thwart seats to achieve the desired seating height.

All control, steering and wiring is run through a single rigging tube.

Console is also 1.5-inches higher as the seats are as well. This makes for a more comfortable driving position.

That is a gorgeous boat, and the work was well done.
