1994 DAUNTLESS 15 Finding New Rail Kit

I recently picked up a project dauntless 15 that’s missing the rail. The hardware mount locations are there, so I know it had one. I see the stantions and misc hardware are still available.

Is finding a new rail kit unheard of?

I’d certainly buy used if I could find one.

There is no off-the-shelf kit available.

If you are in New England, you can contact CMI in Weymouth MA and they can fabricate new rails.

If you are in the Mid-Atlantic states, Martin Marine Design can fabricate it for you.

If not in either geographic region, list what state you are in and maybe a member can recommend a good fabricator.

Thanks, Phil. I’m in Minnesota.
What models and what model years would have the same rail system?

{Would a rail kit be] only [for] 15 footers?

I’d also consider purchasing a salvage unit just for the rails and extra parts.

Unless you want to "restore" your Dauntless you may find a locally fabricated rail to be more satisfactory for everyday use. Many anglers find the OEM rails higher than they like. If you want to install a bow mounted trolling motor in the future the OEM rails could make that process more difficult and expensive. Since the original rail mounting is visible a local fabricator would have a relatively easier time building a rail that suits your needs.
