1977 13 Sport, Forward Storage Area Drain

Postby bobross » Sat Nov 14, 2020 6:39 pm

The drain from the forward storage area appears that it should drain onto the deck. But, there is no tube connecting the two holes. If water gets into that forward locker, it will drain into the interior foam. And, I suppose, standing water on the deck would enter through the lower hole and also go into the foam interior. Not good.

Is there a standard part for this drain, or do I have to fashion one out of tubing of some kind?

I am not aware of any "standard part" for a brass tube drain that you could order, as in already cut-to-length and with perhaps one end rolled over or flared.

For advice on how to replace a brass drain tube, please see the FAQ answer to the question:

Q12: How Are Drain Tubes Replaced?

Do not mistake the brevity of the answer as an indicator of lack of comprehensive content.

Are saying that there is no passage between the hole in the inlet hole in the anchor locker and the outlet hole on the deck?

Or are you saying there is a passage between the inlet and outlet holes, but the passage lacks a brass tube in place?

Why not point to the exact thread?

Perhaps the intention was to point to this thread:

What particular information in that thread is applicable here?

He is talking about the same drain hole that is in the bottom of the anchor locker and this unlined hole drains onto the floor.

I am not clear what person "he" refers to. Please clarify if you are referring to the BOBROSS, the stater of this discussion, or someone in the other discussion you suggested could be found with a search.

Also, it the thread I identified the thread you intended to be found by your suggested search?

I am bit confused. If you are trying to help BOBROSS, you need to give him something a bit more specific than "search".
