Upgrading electronics: console modifications?

Postby Foulweather Jack » Wed Jun 08, 2016 9:22 am

I'm considering upgrading the electronics suite on my 2007 Conquest 235 from Furuno Navnet VX2 to their newer Navnet TzTouch2 system. The problem is that even though the display area with the TZtouch2 screens are larger than the existing Navnet VX2 display, the overall size of the TZtouch2 screens is smaller; thus the newer units will be smaller overall than the existing hole in the console that supports the Navnet VX2.

I could of course hand it over to a professional and let him handle it, but for fun I'm thinking about doing it myself. Can anyone give me any tips for how I could install the newer, smaller display unit in the larger hole. Are there any adapter kits available?

It would be helpful to post a photo that shows the existing installation of your instruments so we can offer appropriate advice.

As it turns out, the larger TZtouch2 screen actually requires a larger cut out. Thanks for your prompt reply
