I am currently running a 1986 15-footer with a 1998 Mercury 90-HP outboard engine. I have an Atlas Micro Jack rated for 115-HP that works well. The pump [is] contained within the confines of the jack plate. I wish [the jack plate pump] had two speeds for raising and lowering.

[My boat has a jack plate made by] Bob's Machine Shop, the five-inch manual version. I'm very satisfied.

We have an MJ-5 on ours - it is setup in the 5" offset negative 6-degree orientation.

After we identified the height that worked well for us, I removed the adjusting screws for better clearance with a swim platform.
