I just re-powered my 1995 19 Outrage II with a Yamaha XB 115 four-stroke-power-cycle engine manufactured in 2019.

The 19 OUTRAGE II boat reaches plane in four seconds and has a top speed of 40-MPH at engine speed of 5900-RPM; data taken with 70 gallons of fuel aboard. I am very happy.

The top boat speed of 40-MPH seems very good for a 115-HP rated engine. I have seen 19 OUTRAGE II boats with older Yamaha V6 150-HP engines; I don’t think they were all that much faster.

What does the “XB” model designation mean?

What is the engine weight?

Please also post the propeller make/model and size and the mounting height of the engine.

My 1986 18' outrage with a F115 with 13x17 painted Yamaha SS prop will hit 40-41 around 5900-6k with bimini up and a lot of fuel mounted all the way up. I do have (very old & faded) bottom paint and 2 batteries in the stern. Pretty good for your boat which weighs more.

The recently redesigned F115 reduced its weight from 402 lbs dry weight to 386 lbs. These are long shaft specs.

In posting the weights I note the WOT range on the recently redesigned F115 is 5300-6300.

I think there is a little more room for improvement for Hesse if he is interested.

With 70 gallons of fuel and hitting 40-MPH at 5900-RPM, I would leave it alone.
