1989 REVENGE 22 W-T Yamaha F225 4.2-liter

For a brief time I owned a 1989 Revenge 22 Walk-Through with a 2017 Yamaha F225 4.2L and a Yamaha 9.9. The data below was taken with four adults and full fuel tank, two batteries, an auxiliary engine, and gear.

With a PowerTech 15-inch-diameter by 13-pitch propeller the F225 engine [at full throttle would accelerate to an engine speed that caused] the Rev-limiter [to be actuated].

The large engine displacement gave [rapid acceleration of the boat onto plane from a standing start at full throttle].

I changed to a 15-inch-diameter by 15-pitch Yamaha SWS propeller. The maximum boat speed was 46-MPH with the engine speed at 6,000-RPM. If you hammer the throttle at 4,500-RPM the [the boat’s sudden acceleration will] throw you back.
