MacRae's of Homossassa

Postby Binkster » Fri Dec 04, 2015 11:14 am

Yesterday, Mary Jane and I stopped by a fish restaurant next to MacRae's for lunch. We wondered if Nick was going to put on his annual rendezvous at MacRae's next spring. http://www.macraesofhomosassa.com/ Where is Nick, (tohsgib) anyway? His meet was always a great place to meet up with CW members.

Hello Binkster. I am leaving Hernando Beach tomorrow after 5 weeks. Nov 5-7, I organized the first MacRaes rendevoux for about 30 Classic SeaCraft members. Also, I have eaten at The Freezer, some of the best ever peel and eat steamed shrimp ever! Are you in Spring Hill?

Yes, I never get to leave, it seems. I'm bogged down with jobs.

Binkster not a bad place to be bogged down even if you have to work.

The Homosassa weekends were indeed great times!! Unfortunately, as with most good things it got too big and some spoilers decided that it should be more family friendly, pet friendly, Muslim friendly, LGBT friendly (always was, Pat and his sheep were there), drug free, alcohol free, gun free, raffle free and no kegs!!! So faced with this situation, Nick and I did what great event planners do, we cancelled the party. While it is possible that the event will happen again, it will be on a limited basis and most likely by invitation only. Having said this before, any weekend event like Homosassa is a lot of work for a few people but it is worth it as long as the majority come away slightly battered and happy. Others are welcome to give it a shot as well. Maybe South Florida or Georgia?

Well, we know very well and we get it. I know this is an old thread but I'm back on CW and had to respond to this one. Binkie, one of the best times was when you were there. I plan some FL trips this year - let's stay in touch.
