Large diameter VHF antenna mount for T-top - FOUND!

Postby Larry29936 » Mon Aug 28, 2017 4:29 pm

My boat has a T-top. The tubing measures almost 2 -nches in diameter. I'd like to mount my GAM SS-2 VHF antenna to it. Can you think of any mounts that will handle my tubing diameter? Or, will I have to fabricate a bracket?

I believe almost any clamp-on antenna mount would handle 2-inch tubing. I would check with the usual on-line suspects.

Thanks for the quick reply. When I checked with "the usual on-line suspects", the largest tubing they state that the rail type mounts will handle is 1-1/2 inch. I'll keep looking.

Larry--I guess 2-inch is large tubing. I have seen another type of clamp-on mount that may work, if you can find it. It may be too "light duty" but perhaps it will handle the light GAM. The design uses a hose clamp to which the mount is attached. I have not seen one lately.

If there is a local top fabricator or outlet they may have the best answer. Meanwhile perhaps a search will lead you to the hose clamp style.

Found one!

https://fishmaster.com/products/t-top-a ... ounts.html

Fishmaster is the company name. They manufacture T-tops with large diameter tubing and accessories to fit them. I ordered the antenna mount last night and received a tracking number this morning.

Thanks for all the great info in this forum!
