John Greviskis Slams E-TEC

Postby Masbama » Sat Jun 17, 2017 11:25 am

[John Greviskis] kinda slammed Evinrude on his latest show when he re-powered his aluminum boat with a Yamaha, replacing an Evinrude E-TEC. He said the Evinrude would not run. This from a guy who once touted the Evinrude engines: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-CTJ2Eq7NlE

I believe he even re-powered his Nantucket with a Yamaha; this after he devoted a whole show on how the Evinrude was perfect for his boat: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ipW4XU9tGZo

Evinrude must have really made this guy mad. I just find it odd that he would throw a company under the bus like that.

Whaler members have known for years who this guy really is. The guy is a hack and his show is crap.

Members like you, me and many many others know what works. Who cares what he said.

Found him to be a bit of a tool and he endorses what is given to him

Yea anytime some manufacturer gives me something new for my boat I'll tell everybody they are the best no matter if it is Yamaha, Mercury or Suzuki, that brand new motor (professionally installed) will be better than my old one.
Any OB manufacturer out there that wants to install a new motor on my Whaler? I'll give them all the free advertising they need.

Well, John has done it again. On his latest show he is replacing his Evinrude E Tec 150hp with a Yamaha because the Evinrude "does not run". This is on his 190 Nantucket. Incredible three of his E Tecs suddenly stopped running.

He could just say "well it's time to repower" instead of slamming a good
company

And even at that, "time to repower", is almost never a pragmatic decision, and is instead usually an emotional one. Most people repower because they want to, not because they have to. We just find excuses to justify an emotional decision, into a pragmatic one.

Look at all the people who buy a large SUV, when a minivan would do everything they bought it for... Better. (Except heavy towing, of course).

Bombastic speech seems to attract more people to watch obscure cable shows.
