Raytheon L470 Outrage 18

Postby Redmanf1 » Tue Aug 28, 2018 4:01 am

Looking for some help with a Raytheon L470 fishfinder. Everything works on it except the speed, it did work one day and quick. I checked the speedo wheel and it spins freely. It looks to be some sort of infrared that the wheel spins in front of. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Nelson

A paddle wheel speed sensor usually works on the principal of a moving magnet inducing a current into a stationary coil. I don’t recall any use of infrared light.

Maybe the magnet has lost some of it properties and the sensor picks up sporadically. It worked for a while today then quick..

Thank you for the reply Jim
