25th Anniversary Edition 13-footer

Postby NYMCAH » Sat Dec 12, 2020 5:01 pm

I have 13-foot Super Sport from 198 which has a plaque on the console that reads

Whaler
25 Strong Years
Special Anniversary Edition
Made Expressly for...

I haven't been able to find anything on the web about a 25th Anniversary Edition

Besides the ornamental plaque, is there anything else unique about this boat?

For the Anniversary edition models, a plaque or slightly different graphics were the only features that were different.

The REFERENCE section article on the 13-footer mentions the 40th Anniversary Classic Limited Edition model.

See http://continuouswave.com/whaler/reference/13/ for details.

See http://continuouswave.com/whaler/reference/13/models.html#40th for photographs

Actually I believe the 25th Anniversary Edition 13-footer was the first model to have the SUPER SPORT interior and railings, which later became a [standard] model in 1984. The 40th Anniversary Edition 13-footer had a blue interior. The 25th Anniversary Edition 13-footers are not worth anymore than a SUPER SPORT is worth. The 40th Anniversary Edition 13-footer might have some added value due to the blue interior.
On my 24th Whaler. Currently in the stable: 86 18' Outrage, 81 13' Sport(original owner), 87 11' Sport, 69 Squall(for sale cheap).

This seems right. According to the reference page the Super Sport model wasn't added until 1985, so the idea that the 25th Anniversary Edition was a precursor to that makes sense. Thanks for the information

How many 25th Anniversary Edition boats were built?

I am not aware of any statistics about any model production that have been released by Boston Whaler. You should inquire with Boston Whaler customer service to see if they know the answer.

As far as I know, Whaler never kept count of how many anniversary editions were made.
