Where can one get the replacement keys for the side door and center door for a 1989 Montauk? The previous owner did not have them. Thank you!

I just ordered these keys for my console door.

If it is a traditional style key it may also be the universal CH751

Re: Replacement Key for Console Door Locks - 1989 Montauk
I doubt you will be able to buy the proper key by just ordering it at random from a website. I recommend an alternative method:
To find the proper key for the door lock on a Boston Whaler console door, use this method:
--remove the lock from the door; usually this is easily done as the backside of the lock is completely accessible;
--take the lock to a professional locksmith; do not take it a to big box store with a automated non-attended key machine
--ask the professional lock smith to assist you in getting a key
I found that some of the key locks used by Boston Whaler employed keys whose blanks could not be found at your usual hardware store key-making facility, and only by going to a professional lock smith shop was I able to get a duplicate key made.
Of course, not having any key will make this process more complicated. One may have to weigh the cost of deducing the keying arrangement in the existing lock with the cost cost of just buying a new lock mechanism.
And, as always, as a last resort--or maybe better as a first option--contact Boston Whaler customer service. They may have this information at the ready to email to you.

Re: Replacement Key for Console Door Locks - 1989 Montauk
Last but not least replace the latch. I was able to replace the OEM non-lockable latch on my newer 2008 console door with a keyed one.
I believe it was a SouthCo Model M1-41-8 but I don't have the info in front of me and can't get it until next week. But if interested email me and I'll get you the info.

Re: Replacement Key for Console Door Locks - 1989 Montauk
The backside of the latch will have some numbers stamped on it. This is what you need for the key. From my memory there is a universal latch/lock and then unique latch lock. The reason for this is so one can have multiple cabinets/doors/etc locked with a single key; but then unforetunately could be opened by a stranger with a like key. Or the unique key that is one of the many many combinations available.
I suggest just go buy latch/lock and replace. My guess is the look is probably frozen up anyways.

I took my locks off and use the hole as a finger pull. I didn't want some clown breaking the teak louvers so he could steal a backup aluminum prop and a flair kit.

I just restored my console, and rather than deal with a locksmith, etc., I just replaced them with a new pair:

They are stainless, and they even came keyed alike.

At only $8 for a new lock, I don't think you could get a professional locksmith to make two keys for that price.

And are your key alike keys labeled CH751?
