Rod Holders for Reverisble Pilot Seat
Rod Holders for Reverisble Pilot Seat
I recently purchased a used reversible pilot seat (RPS) for my 1982 Outrage 18. The rod holders fit into the teak back of the RPS and have plastic coating on the top of the stainless steel top that is very deteriorated. I would like to repair or replace them. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to do this? Sue at Twin Cities wasn't able to help.

Re: Rod Holders for Reverisble Pilot Seat
My impression gained over the years is that the typical rod holder used on Boston Whaler boats was made by Lee's of Miami. Lee's are the premium brand of rod holders, and that is what you'd expect to find on a Boston Whaler boat. Perhaps checking the Lee's catalog might reveal something still made that could be used as a replacement.
Usually the Lee's of Miami rod holders are clearly marked with their brand name. More information on Lee's of Miami at

Re: Rod Holders for Reverisble Pilot Seat
Did anyone find an answer for this? I have called Lee's tackle and they don't have them. I would really like to find the white ones because the black caps seem like they would be very hot in the summer sun. If anyone didn't find the actual part, do you have any other solutions? I have made several phone calls and keep coming up empty. No idea why it would be so hard to find this part as several rod holders on the market today still seem to have these types of white caps on them.
Thanks in advance.

I am not sure there is a cadre of readers pursuing an answer for this inquiry.

I have the same problem. I've been thinking about trying rubber dip like you put on tool handles...
