I'm working on making the 19 into a low profile. 21 on the right sold a few months ago.

CONTINUOUSWAVE--the boat

Postby jimh » Tue Nov 03, 2015 10:49 am

Here is CONTINUOUSWAVE, a 1990 Boston Whaler REVENGE 22 Walk-Through Whaler Drive boat. It has a 2010 Evinrude E-TEC 225-HP engine. This picture was taken in 2010 at Little Current, Ontario, Canada, at the dock of the municipal marina there. The boat is facing west. In the background you can see the LaCloche range that forms the north shore of Lake Huron at ten miles distant. We have been visiting the North Channel of Lake Huron almost every summer since our initial trip there in 1986. This image was taken near sunset, which at that location in the Summer is almost 10 p.m.

We usually trailer the boat into Canada on the highway, and launch from various ports, such as Tobermory, Blind River, Little Current, Lions Head, Penetanguishene, or Midland. We have crossed into Canada by water, launching at Detour Village in Michigan. Many of our trips--unfortunately not all of them--are documented in my sail log narratives.

Thank you! Yes the seats are original. Not sure if they were standard or an option though.very handy when I am dragging a diver so I can turn sideways and have an easy view ahead and behind.

1997 17 Outrage with 115 Yamaha. Only the second time out on this boat--after the first ride I bought a different boat. We spent the day cruising the skinny waters of Shark River, then we stopped dockside for some dinner at Kleins in Belmar, New Jersey.

1999 21 Outrage with Yamaha 200-HP. It's not a great picture but its from the first chance I had to take this boat out after purchasing from a member here this past Spring. It is a really nice, well-kept boat. I am looking forward to lots of use for next season.

It's wonderful to be able to see so many beautiful classic and newer Whalers. The last picture of a Lo Pro is very nice. From the angle of the shot that Lo Pro looks a lot like a Panga.

lil ol boat
Wow what a neat picture. Is it a deceiving picture as to height above the water?
What is the tide flow difference there I didn't know it was that large at the Harbor River area, looks more than the 6-7ft I thought it was.?

Some Shots of our 1993 23 Walkaround Whaler Drive from this year. The boat was originally bought by the first owner at the Miami Boat Show in 1993. This boat was built by Whaler for their show booth and he just had to have it. The boat lived on a lift on the intercostal in Pompano Beach Fl during his ownership. We have had it for about 5 years now and are the second owners. The motors have just over 2000 hours on them with the original powerheads and they are still strong runners. It's been a great boat and a pretty Unique Whaler.

Good morning all, and happy Thanksgiving. I bought this 1987 Guardian 18 a few years ago - it had many bumps, bruises, and heavy use from being a patrol boat, but was solid and had a dive door, which I found to be highly desireable (and very unusual) for an 18. I restored it by disassembling much of the hull (floor, gas tank, etc.), and after many (mostly happy) hours and dollars, ended up with a pretty nice boat. It is powered by a new 2015 ETEC 150 HO, which gives great acceleration, and around 45 mph top speed. It sips gas, and I could not be more pleased with the performance. I was able to buy it during one of their promotions, which was a very positive experience. Many thanks to Jim, who moderates this excellent website, as I learned much about the promotion here.

Regarding some of the e-goodies, I chose Lowrance electronics (stand alone GPS and stand alone depth unit), as these were adequate and didn't break my budget (about $1000 total for both units).

I fish mainly in the Florida Keys, and this small boat is easy for me to trailer and launch, and the 18 rides pretty good if the captain chooses good weather days and doesn't push the throttle down too far in heavy chop - hah!

The water photo was taken by me right after the new motor had been installed (before new electronics), and the boat is temporarily anchored off the picnic area at Lake Springs park in Clark's Hill Reservoir (Lake Thurmond), north of Augusta, Georgia. The land photos were taken by me after I added electronic gear.

Warren that is a great slide show you published via the link above.
Especially the picture numbers 12, 30, 39, 40, 47, 85, and 88 of 93.
I love the number 40 with the boat in the trough.
It almost looks like the photographer was in the water with the 12, 30, 39 & 47 shots. How were those taken (we know he wasn't in the water)?

The other Whaler: It's a 1991 Revenge 25 Walk-Through with twin Evinrude 150-HP engines. These images were shot in the Benjamin Island group of the North Channel region of Ontario. Specifically, one in Porcupine Island harbor and the other in the north bay of North Benjamin, in 2010.

The swells in the Pacific Ocean around Northern California sometimes (most times) are 5-10 feet...so easy to photograph other boats when they are in the trough as your boat is on the top. :-)

My second BW, refurbished myself. 1982 Sport 15. 2005 Yamaha F60, Bobs Machine 5 in 1 manual jack plate. About 400 hours when sold to my neighbor for $8500! Ten years, lost about 4 Grand!!! Not a bad return. Boat was Porshe on the water!

Currently constructing a 1988 Sport 15, converting from traditional side consul to center, including a custom rigging tube, tilting consul, mini leaning post and 18 gallon fuel custom aluminum fuel cell. For sale this spring.

This pic taken at my dock in Hernando Beach, Fla.. Primary residence still Bluffton, SC. where project Whaler, and two Classic SeaCrafts are stored indoors.

1986 Montauk at our camp on Cow Island in Lake Winnipesaukee. There are 260+ islands on this lake...I think I've hit all of them. Anyway, we bought "Cub's Tub" in Oregon and trucked her across country behind our 1970'ish Jeep Grand Cherokee. Rides like a brick and could use a restore but I still get complements towing her home...about the boat, that is. Image

This is my (dad's) 16-footer. It's a 1970 with a 1969 Bearcat, 1970 Gator trailer. Receipt just says 16-foot with reversible pilot seat. Dad built the forward deck using redwood and a neighbor's Sakonnet as a template. The boat was sold a few years back for a year to a guy in Virginia (thus the reg numbers), but he sold it back to me and my siblings. Other than the year in Virginia it has lived life on the Detroit River and Lake Erie out of Trenton, Michigan, and on the Antrim County, Michigan chain of lakes, where it now resides and is pictured on the hard. Sorry, no good recent on the water pics.

My SUPER SPORT 15

Postby PennyRacer » Tue Jan 26, 2016 9:03 pm

My new Christmas gift or toy or project: a 1984 SUPER SPORT 15 with 1992 Yamaha 70-HP. The boat needs some TLC. I have new wheel and other items coming and will update as I move along. The engine is dialed-in and runs fantastically. I am excited to join the Whaler club--first time owning one.
