Type and Size of Drain Plug

Q1: what size and type of plug should be installed (from outside the boat) into the transom of a 2010 170 [of unspecified model] that has the bait tank option?

I don' want to fight having to open the hatch and reach under the bait tank to install the plug.

Usually 1" plug. What's wrong with putting your arm in the baitwell? Shrimp don't bite. Crabs do!
