On Thursday, I traveled to Delray Beach (200 miles south of my home in the Daytona Beach, Florida area) and picked up and ferried a Whaler 27' Cuddy with twin counter rotating Yamaha 200's back to my dock on Spruce Creek. This for "safe-keeping" of this wonderful boat for Tom Zeno (BigZ) and his wife Debi (also young daughter, Amy) until they can arrange to get it up to New Jersey, their home... The Zenos have made the move to this 27 from a 20 Outrage (wow) soon to be on the market is my guess! Anyway, what a great trip! I took a buddy along and we fought wind and rain for about 150 miles, overnighted in Palm Beach and cruised at about 25 to 28 mph and 3500 rpm for most of the trip. Once past the conjestion south of Jupiter we could relax and just humm along. Anyone who loves Whalers like I do would have enjoyed this trip regardless of the foul weather (yes, we have foul weather here just like other places). Now all the Zenos have to do is get her to NJ when it warms up a bit up there! Well, the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) goes all the way! I'm sure that Tom will share any experiences, should he dicide to cruise her up. Congratulations Tom, Debi and Amy on a new venture into "Whalerdom"! You now have what I would classify as the Flagship of classic Whalers... as always, Happy Whalin'... Clark.....Spruce Creek Navy
