Does any one subscribe to the Classic Whaler Owners' Association newsletter? I emailed them back on Jan.20 & gave them my credit card info etc. they gave me an order number and that was it. I have not heard from them since. I've tried to email them and they are not responding. Any ideas? Thanks.

AJ, The same thing happened to me in December -- zip no contact other than an order number -- even tried calling... got a machine twice but no return call --- at least no credit card charge! Regards, Thomas |

I had the same experience earlier this year. I send in a check to renew a subcription and it got cashed but didn't get recorded. No news leter for 6 months. I also ordered a shirt and rub rail from the web site and it never arrived. After 3 e-mails with no reply and finally a written letter, I got it staightened out. The problem is work over load. Jim Knight needs help but that is no excuse for ignoring e-mail and web site orders. Kurt |

Apparently, there are still problems. The web site isn't even working. I've tried at least a dozen times to order the newsletter, and can't even check out. If anyone has any luck, let me know. I'm really interested in subscribing. |

This is the link it is working today --- http://www5.icat.com/store/classicwhaler/index.icl?execute=index.icl&Colocode=icatThink Knight should seek an affiliation which could handle the day to day task appears he is authorized and endorsed by Whaler --- |

This might sound crazy but I think this site should join forces with the Classic Whalers Owners Association. Why have two forces working opposite each other. Jim Knight is in over his head with work and James Hebert is doing an outstanding job moderating and running this web site. The two working together could pool the users, information and resources. Lets hear from the group. Good idea or bad idea? Kurt |

Sound like a good idea. I don't think that Jim Hebert is interested in editing and printing a newletter, maybe Knight might not be interested in really running a website. The site seems more designed for sales then as a true forum, for info exchange. |

Great idea!!! In fact with that type of partnership, you could offer options on the newsletter - either subscribe for a hardcopy or download an e-file. Of course, both might enjoy an even larger audience, which is a win-win. |

Regarding newsletters, Boston Whaler has posted a new issue of their "Legends" newsletter at whaler.com, under the Whaler News section. It's very well done and worth looking at, especially since there are several pages devoted to 17' Classic Whaler boats. Maybe the Harley Davidson story hasn't been lost on them yet, and I'm glad to see, finally, that the Company realizes there is still considerable interest and value in those "Blue/White & Desert Tan" Boston Whalers & their owners. The Commercial Products Division, at least, seems to be keeping the old traditions & hull molds alive. Or maybe it's the customers, who still prefer the sea keeping abilities & safety of the older classic hulls! Anyway, there is also a story on some Classic 27' models just delivered. |

Larry,Thanks for the information on the "Legend", pretty interesting issue. It is even decent printed out and the photos came out very well. I just received an email from Jim Knight at the CWOA, said they have over 3000 members and the news letter is to be mailed out today and will included mention of this site and forum. Regards, Thomas |

Hi All,Just received an email from Jim Knight this morning and finally after almost 6 months he found my order and subscription. He was very apologetic, and even through in a second years subscription for free. Guess we all have or at least I have had headaches with programming glitches and with about 3000 members it is pretty easy to loose things through the cracks and hard to find them when you do try! My hat goes off to Jim knight and the organization he has formed the CWOA. If you haven't joined I say it might be a good idea to give it a try lots of interesting articles in the news letter and it is endorsed by Boston Whaler -- Classic Whaler Owners' Association PO Box 1715 306 N. I can`t pull up The Legend off of the Whaler site. Every time it comes up in some odd format that looks like some ancient hyroglifics. It comes up with weird symbols and letters-whats up-any suggestions, I really want to read it? Thanks-JACK. |

Jack you need the Adobe Acrobat plug (pdf format)in for your browser to read it and or save and print it. There is a link I believe on the Legend's page for a download of this program. Thomas |

I am not renewing my Classic Whaler Association Newsletter. After you get through the advetisement there about 1 page of news. To me for what you pay, it's a ripoff.
Customer service is poor from many accounts. Knight is getting a lot of checks,if he needs to hire people, he should. I am most impressed with the continous wave site, it is excellent I would pay 15 to join the continous wave . I think there is 10x information year then 3 years of CWAO newsletter. Whaler radio is wonderful and Jim H. does a great job. Thanks and keep up the great work Dick E
