I just arrived in San Diego with my wife, 2 dogs, and my 1971 Nausset. I am moving from Atlantic Beach NC where there are plenty good places to go camping and exploring in the boat. I am unfamiliar with San Diego and was wondering if anyone had any advice on where to go boating and the location of public boat ramps. Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks

I cannot remember the names but I will describe. On San Diego Bays north shore is the airport and mcrd running south west is a pennisula (rosecrans?) that has mostly homes, and anyways, back to rosecrans, there is a good facility called Point Loma there, and south is Shelter Island Basin lots of tackle shops with good info there. I can check with my wifes cousin (whom fishes much) for additional info if you like. But when I visited there I learned much from the two or three shops I stopped by.
