I recently purchased a 1974 BW which was advertised as a Montauk. However, after finding this web site I am unsure. The boat still contains the original wood console as well as a wood "reversable" bench. The boat does not contain a wooden front platform, as I understand the Sakonnet's offered. Besides the platform, are there any other ways of identifying the hull model?

Email Chuck Bennett at Whaler( with the hull numbers from the transom of the boat. He will tell you when it was born, what model, and where it was first sold to.
Good luck,

The boat's a Sakonnet. The forward platform was an extra cost option, and not too many had them.
