Is there a size restriction to what boats are titled and what boats are not? The individual I purchased a 13 ft. Whaler from had all the registration information for the boat and trailer but not a title. He said that was all he had. I have bought row boats before with out titles but was unsure if a 13ft Whaler would come without one.

I suspect it varies from state to state.
There's one state (GA? AL?) that doesn't
title boats at all.

I'm in Ohio and just bought a Montauk from Scott in Illinois. So I got a boat and trailer title from IL that I thought I had to transfer. Turns out Ohio titles boats greater that 16', engines greater than 10 hp, but not trailers.

Ben, I live in Pennsylvania and we need Titles for the trailers and Titles and Registrations for the boat. Regards-Jack Graner.

I should have done this earlier. I called the Michigan Sec of State and was informed any boat under 20ft. does not need a title. Great news for me and my new used 13ft Whaler.
