I have spoken by phone with an individual who is the original owner of an 85 Montauk. with 90 yahama (105 hours). The seating is reversible pilot's seat & behind that 2 pedastal mount swivel seats. The boat was delivered to the owner this way. Special option? I had thought the only seating option is the 1,200 dollar bench. Help with explaining this?

2) Price: 8.5k. Mike, I hope you bought the 94 model you found for the same price.

Thanks, Tom L

Got the answer. C Bennett of BW responded that the pedastals were not an option. TL

While the seats may have been offered as an option by Whaler, the dealer may well have installed them for the original owner, and they could well be genuine Boston Whaler parts. This may not still be desirable, as there is limited room behind the RPS in a Montauk, and I would guess 2 swivel seats would overcrowd it, but I've never tried myself. May dealers, especially in the Classic years, knew the boats and their customers well, and would perform a great deal of customization on them. You could try calling the dealer that delivered the boat, they may have kept detailed records, particularly if you have the original owners last name.

Doug: Thanks. I will give that a try. Tom Also, I think I will ask my brother in law to go around by boat and look at it since I have found that they are on the same lake in the same area. Tom L
