Ok, heres where I stand, local dealer said to sand the gear to make it fit, so thats tomorrow. The crack in the hull, cheapest quote is 600.00 and they all want to cut the deck and do it from the top side, I really dont want to do that unless needed, so marine tech seems to be the product ive been told to use, hoping it works out, question is, when im done i was going to gel coat it, except the gel coats all said not for use on epoxy. So now what? I sit ok to leave it as is? Also, should I chose to gel coat other areas, from what I could read on the labels i brush on the gel coat, then a release agent, then cover with wax paper? I know some one mentioned prevail, but the place ( west marine) never heard of it. Can i use a spray bottle? Thanks!

GO to the Repair/Mod section of the forum and expand the post to "all last year" you will find a wealth of information --- Tom

PS this question should be posted in that section anyway --- :)

Thunder,
If you are asking a marine supply store what to use they almost always suggest Marine Tech no matter what the problem is. Most of the people there are just $ 2.00 clerks and dont know what they are talking about. I would take anything they suggest w/ a grain of salt. I would never use marine tech to do a structual repair. If the repair yards are sugesting you cut the deck and do the repair from the inside it sounds pretty serious. I would look into doing the repair corectly useing a marine resin & fiberglass cloth.
