does anyone know if the bow light on the 66 nauset in the cetacea section is the origional bow light? If it is this could help me finally figure out what boat I have. I have checked all the spots that would give clues, but due to the "renovations" of the previous owner there is no evidence. I origionally thought it was a montauk, It has a blue interior, and no bow chock (not even on the hull)probably another mod by Mr. slice an dice. Anybody got anything? thanks in advance -Ben

See if you can find the serial number of the hull. It will either be on the back of the transom or in the bow locker. Email the serial number to customer service at and they will be able to tell you what the boat originally was.

Had to do the same thing with my old currituck. A provious owner had replaced everything on the boat except the stern light and the marina where I had bought it had the year of the hull wrong. Boston Whaler emailed me back telling me the year of the hull, the make and even what dealer the boat was originally sent to.

Hope this helps,

Peter Ferguson

I appreciate your response, but I have already checked both areas. I will look again -mabey it is painted over. where on the transom would it be if there is no plate? I am assuming that if there is no plate then look in the bow so I hav'nt looked hard arround the rear. The bow may have had some glass work done that may have moved into the bow locker and covered the serial number. But just in case, where in the bow locker would it be? Thanks Ben

The number in the forward locker should be stenciled on the aft part of the forward locker. It should be stensiled on the insode of the transom. Most Ihave seen were in white paint on the blue hull so if it's painted over like mine was, you may not get to see it.

If you can email me a digital photo of the boat, I cna probably help with the id of the model.

Thanks rwest this answers my question about HIN. The 13 I just purchased has an 886 stensiled in the bowlocker just as you described

S/N "886" sounds like an early one!

There is a list of S/N -vs- year in the REFERENCE section. It indicates pre-1961 for a number that low.
