Is 115hp enough for Outrage 17? Is a 1999 115 hp Merc Bluewater Series enough power for a 1999 Boston Whaler Outrage?

Dan, I think the 115 hp would be more than enough! I had a 1971 Nauset with a 100 hp Evenirude and we could top out at approx. 40 to 42 mph.
You also might want to check the max reccomended hp. for the boat as well. (On my year boat max hp was 100hp.)

Hey Dan,
A 115 should be plenty of motor for your
Outrage 17.I had a 115 on my Outrage17 and
it would push right at 41mph.The only time
I could have used more HP was when I had
4 large adults and some rough seas.
The 17 is rated for 150hp.1999 was the
last year they were made in the recreational
line of whalers. They still make them in the
commercial division.
Good luck
