I've recently come by a prop that I would like to identify as to diameter & pitch. It appears to be an unused polished SS prop in a box marked "Michigan Wheel." There are no markings on the box and I cannot find any numbers or letters on the prop itself. Previous owner states that it was purchased for his Yamaha 90 but never used---he has no idea of the specifications. Is there any easy way to determine diameter & pitch? I'm going to try it on my Yamaha 90 and will get some idea from WOT rpms but I would like to know for sure what I have. Should there be markings on the prop? Thanks.

compounder: suggest you take it to a good prop shop and ask them to identify the prop. Also check to see if a thrust washer or regular washer is stuck on it and blocking the part number. Normally the prop will have the part number molded in or stamped in on the trailing edge of the hub. In many cases the number is on the hub itself between the blades.
Good luck, Dave
