I have had several people ask about the gas tank that is on my Montauk. Well I finally got around to drawing it out and posting it on my web site. I don't have my pics. back just yet, however; when I do get them I will post those also. The tanks total cap. is 22.6 gal. It measures 29" / 18" / 10". If you have trouble finding it please let me know. The site is (www.geocities.com/whalertim)Pick on (Meet the family) then go to (Tim)

That's a good looking tank. Is it Coast Guard approved?
I used a Tempo #C2814 tank in my Montauk. It is 28 gal capacity and just fits under the seat. You do have to slide it aft for filling but for $180.00 I can live with that.

No, I do not have to move it to fill it. The fill spout is in the front which sits just between my legs when standing at the console. I will get some pics up soon.

Dick: I almost hate to say this, but Shoreway Marine is selling the 28 gallon Tempo for the Montauk for $99. Just in case someone out there needs one.

Is this Tempo tank a current product, available through other distributors?

I am not familier with Shoreway Marine. It is possible to sell at that if they buy directly from Tempo at distributor price. If they are buying from a distributor at dealer price they are loosing money. The price I had posted earlier is Tempo's suggested list.

Dick, you can give Shoreway a call to order their catalog --- we do most all are boat and fishing related shopping there great folks as Larry will testify -- 1-888-746-7392 or 1-800-443-5408

I believe but could be wrong Shoreway is owned by either the former owners of Goldberg Marine in Philly or family members --- Goldberg marine I think was sold to West or E&B which is now West a long time ago --- this might contribute to their purchasing ability --- Goldberg Marine at one time was one of the largest marine supply operations in the country ---

The tank is a current Tempo product as are the low profile tanks for other Whalers like the 13 and 15 Sports.

Larry mentioned before in a post that he has had success with West matching Goldberg's prices ---- I have never bothered since their local and ironically a West store is about 4 miles up the same road ----
