First, let me say that I really give special consideration to posts that occur after midnight. I mean, here I am, up late on a Friday night, and I enjoy seeing a few new posts after midnight EST.

Now, back to the question, why Easy-E can't vote... I don't know the answer, but it probably has to do with a combination of his browser and some cookies.

The poll tries to keep people from jammin' on it with duplicate votes by paying attention to the ip-address of the voter and by sending a cookie that says "I voted".

Somehow, Easy-E must have a cookie that says "I voted" that has not been expired. That is absolutely and completely the FAULT of Easy-E's browser. We sent him a cookie that was supposed to expire after a [secret] amount of time, and here it is, the [secret] amount of time has elapsed, and it is up to Easy-E's browser to say, "Man, that cookie has expired so we ain't gonna pay no 'tention to that trash" and let him vote.

But does it let him vote? Noooooooooo....

Is that the fault of The Whaler Voting Booth? No Way!

We are running a totally up-and-up voting booth.

We've got the Secretary of State of Florida certifying its fairness!

OK, back to Easy-E's problem... try poking around in your cookies and throwing out that darn cookie from continuouswave.com that says you voted and you'll be back in the game!

Another reason the cookie has not expired:

You have a gross error in the time/date on your machine and the expiration date of the cookie a [secret] amount of time in the future has actually occured but because your clock is in gross error the cookie has not reached the [secret] expiration time.

A third reason for problems in voting:

You are using a browser made by Microsoft, and therefore you are experiencing random and inexplicable errors in the execution of the software code contained in the Microsoft product.

This is probably the most likely explanation.

Thanks Jim-

It was reason number "2".I had my clock set to canada time when it should of been set to caribbean time. Its like 2:40am right now.I couldnt sleep so i desided to surf the net and see whats the lates news from my fellow whaler people.
Well i voted for "some varnish" cause I like seeing whalers with nice lightly varnished seats and bow lockers and molded white center consoles "like mine".I think some oil is ok but a little to dark.No wood looks too cheap. All wood looks too old.Well it doesnt look like to many people thinks like me,"some varnish" was at the bottom of the list with like 13 votes.Oh well..time for bed..until later..take it easy..Easy E.

PS-Thanks again Jim for the technical support

That is strange regarding the time difference. I didn't think that a matter of a few hours would make a difference.

Quite interesting the number of people choosing "Some Oiled Wood" as their option.
