I went to the providence boat show over the weekend and the only whaler dealer there was Nauset Marine. I asked why there were no Montauks on display and he said that "everybody knows what a montauk looks like"
I did see a bunch of other dealers that were showing copies of classic whalers- Mckee, Sailfish, Carolina skiff, etc. I am suprised that whaler dealers dont promote the classic line at all. I did enjoy the show, I found a great place to get line of all types at good prices. the man calls himself the Rope Dope. I think he has a web site as well.

Dave, I also went to the show this weekend. Although I didn't think the show was very good.
In my opinion there were too many cruisers and party boats. Even Nauset Marine as you said had the "fashion" Whalers on display.

As far as I was concerned there were only two boats in the whole show I would buy (if my Outrage ever disappears) they would be the RothBilt 18, and the Pilot 19. I think these are very well constructed and leave a nice (and not often produced) classic line.

Although the prices are pretty high!

What are these boats? Is there any web info on them?

The Roth Bilt can be seen at www.roth-bilt.com they are manufactured in Mattapoiset MA. Very nice boat, although around 28,000.00 with a 90 hp.

Just saw a better website for the Pilot and Roth Bilt. If anyone wants to see better pics, check www.johnsonsboatyard.com a local RI dealer.
