Purchased a 25' Revenge in August that has a 225hp Johnson 1986 model. I often wondered how reliable is oil injection on these engines? The oil tank is about 2 gallons and is in the back of the boat. It has a low level warning horn which works very well!!!!Is the performance of the injection system something that should be checked periodically or are these systems good for years?

You should always keep an eye on it. I think your tank is 1.8 gallons. I have the same size tank feeding a 1987 150 Johnson with a VRO2 pump. The tank's sending unit sends a low oil signal causing the horn to go off even when the tank's full so I disconnected it. Nevertheless, I watch the tank and can say that I go through about a gallon of oil every other fillup of the gas tank (about 35 gallons or more).
