Does any know how much approximately
does it cost to ship a small boat and
trailer across the States, say from Florida to California?

$3.35 IF you can squeeze it into one of those US Postal envelopes. Otherwise, I've seen rates around $.75-$1.00 per mile, depending on the weight and size.

You may wish to consider going to a truck stop near you and inquiring AT the truck stop if any EMPTY owner operators are going to: ______ and would consider hauling your boat. Sometimes there are operators who are UNLOADED and would welcome the chance, at a LOT LESS than what you may pay from a Trucking Company. Just a thought. Best, Maverick

There are a couple of web sites that might get you going in the right direction. I'm thinking more like $1000. for nationwide shipment, put in with other cargo, otherwise much more $$. (I guess on the whole I'd rather be leaving Calif. for Florida, not the other way around, just my opinion.)

There are other freight companies and I like the suggestion that Maverick had about an empty tractor trailer.

I have used RAD transport before and was pleased with the results. They can place the boat and trailer on their trailer or if you feel the trailer can make the trip they will pull it behind a truck. You are better off having them load it on their own trailer (you will sleep better at night...trust me!!)

Their number is (219) 266-1330. Ask for Mike.

If you have an tractor trailer haul the boat you will need to make arrangements to have the boat hoisted on the trailer at pick up and hoisted off a drop off. Both of which will cost you extra. However RAD has special trailer which winch the boat on their trailer and they will deliver to your door.
