How very nice to drop in to the FORUM this morning and find this thread! I had forgotten the ocassion of the anniversary, but it is quite a treat to be reminded of it like this.

Many thanks to everyone who has participated. I think we have a great group here and there won't be any problem sustaining it.

For me the FORUM has lead to many new friendships and a lot of great boating fun. What could be better?

Thanks again to all, and a special tip of the hat to Tom, Clark, and Larry!

Up here in the boonies nobody has ever seen a whaler and only a few have even heard about them. Your column is not only invaluable as far as tips go
but permits me to feel a part of a community of like minded ( and also interesting) individuals.
Congradulations and thank you for your efforts

Jim, I remember when I first found a forum about Boston Whalers on the net. It was back in '97 and it was hosted by Boston Whaler on their web site. It seems that BW became paranoid about some of the bad press the new boats were getting and shut down the site claiming the competitors were doing the bashing. A short while later Internet Waterway On Line tried to carry on the forum but failed because of their difficult format.
But then came our hero, Jim Hebert, who became the Phoenix of the Forum. Your talents and dedication to this Forum, along with the knowledgable contributors, has given me so much guidance, education and entertainment for the past year. Thank you very much! Don

I remember finding the site last year just after I bought my 72 whaler bass boat 16 and had no idea what model/year/type boat I had. I have learned a tremendous amount about my boat and all other types of whalers over the past year. I check daily to get my fix of whaler news, whats new in the cetacea section and what the hot topic is in the forums. Thanks for this great resource and giving us all a place to partake in vast quantities of whaler-ology. Keep up the great work! David
