Ineed to know how to tell the year of a bw are the last 2 numbers in the serial numbers the year the boat was made and is the same true for the motor. Thanks

Yes! the last two numbers in the SN are the year that it was made. There has been alot of talk on this subject. You might want to check out some of the past threads.

If you email your serial number to Boston Whaler, they will tell you the date the hull was made, where it was made, what model it is and where it was shipped from. They even sent me a copy of the advertisement pamphlet for my Minot model.

They did this for free...what a great company!

For early whalers, the last two digits is
NOT the model year. That began sometime
after whalers. And I think the last two
digits of the HIN (later number), is (I think)
the model year, not the mfg year.
