This is one helluva site. I've been reading it for some time now and it is really stoking the fires. I grew up ridin' and riggin' my Dad's '74 Nausset. We eventually moved up to a '88 20' Outrage w/Whaler Drive and twin 100 GT's. Sold it after he died and am unable to describe what a mistake that was. I'm searching and enjoying the banter and info on this site - Thanks!

The description of your Dad's Outrage rings a bell. I think the person who must have bought it, Ryan Aytay, frequents this site and has it for sale for $22,000. See "marketplace" section, post dated 12-21-2000 for additional info and how to find his listing w/picture.Nice, rare boat. You were right, you shouldn't have sold it!! Maybe you can get it back. Glad you found this site. |

Small world story. Ryan is the guy who bought it. A tangent story is that when he came to pick up the boat his Dad showed up to help him and it turns out his Dad had bought the leaning post that had originally come with the boat from my Dad after we replaced it with the reversible bench seat. It would make quite a story to buy it back but I'm looking more in the 18' range. I had no idea Whaler documentation was so sought after. I have much of my Dad's old brochures, doco and some price lists packed away. I'll post what I find and will be happy to scan in what might help anyone out. |

Do you have any idea of what the gentleman is asking for your old 20'. You can e-mail me with information. It is located in the Midwest, if I am not mistaken. I would guess that we would have to race the whalerguy. Another good reason to use e-mail. |

Hey Chesapeake, I sent you an e-mail with some info. That's probably true about Whalerguy - he'd probably have to sell a few of his "fresh water boats" to cash this one out though. Don't judge all us Minnesotans by this guy - must be an import! |
