I'm the proud new owner of a beautiful classic 1662 13', hull #5620. I believe I'm the third owner. I've known the previous owner for the last 20 years, who kept the boat garaged on a bunk trailer. It has not been used for the past eight years. Besides a few chips in the blue topside gelcoat, the inner and outer hulls are in great shape.SS side and bow rails, original magonany (which I plan to refinish), and a nice mahogany steering console; this Whaler is truly a dream come true for me!
I've read most of the posts on this site and have learned a lot about repairs, etc. Since I reside in California, I am looking at various 4 cycle outboards in the 30-40 hp range. Wow, they sure are heavy!
I plan on restoring the boat to it's original glory. My wife mentioned something about some "clock" ticking away and suggested another addition to our family. Boy, was she surprised!
