I'm the proud new owner of a beautiful classic 1662 13', hull #5620. I believe I'm the third owner. I've known the previous owner for the last 20 years, who kept the boat garaged on a bunk trailer. It has not been used for the past eight years. Besides a few chips in the blue topside gelcoat, the inner and outer hulls are in great shape.

SS side and bow rails, original magonany (which I plan to refinish), and a nice mahogany steering console; this Whaler is truly a dream come true for me!

I've read most of the posts on this site and have learned a lot about repairs, etc. Since I reside in California, I am looking at various 4 cycle outboards in the 30-40 hp range. Wow, they sure are heavy!

I plan on restoring the boat to it's original glory. My wife mentioned something about some "clock" ticking away and suggested another addition to our family. Boy, was she surprised!

Proud Papa of #5620....CarlRobert

Well, I bet she was surprised! And congratulations to the proud parents...if it will be of any help, you might try telling her that it will cost a lot less to feed and send to college than what she was thinking about...(I've never had the nerve to try that one with my wife, though).
