I made a sales call today on the local Sea Ray/Boston Whaler dealer.
They had a Montauk on display at both locations. Both were set up with Mercury 60 hp 2 strokes.
They didn't have one in the boat show so it was nice to at least see them in the showroom.

Dick, you said they had 60h.p. 2-strokes? I thought the new Whalers only came with a choice of 90h.p. 2-stroke or a 90h.p. 4-stroke? I would have thought they would have the 60h.p. 4-stroke option, sounds like a great motor for the Montauk? Regards-Jack Graner.

I agree the 60 4 stroke would be the ideal motor. This dealer has enough clout to bring the boats in the way they want them, with or without motors. I'm sure they were riggged with the 2 strokes for price point.
Not to sure if any dealer couldn't bring the boats in any way they wanted but pre-rigs save time and money.
